Clippers Out Hustle the Lakers in Season Opener - Sportsfinda's Marketplace

Opening night of the NBA in Staples Center the Lakers and Clippers who are both home teams of Los Angeles battled. Both teams have added many new players on their rosters. The Main addition for the Lakers were Anthony Davis from the Pelicans and Danny Green from the Raptors. The Clippers huge additions were Khawi Leonard and Paul George. Paul George did not play in this opener.

As the game began the Lakers came out to a solid start and both teams battled on the defensive end. Second quarter the momentum changed as Khawi Leonard led the clippers charge including  their bench production. The Clippers scored 40 points in the second quarter alone that resulted in their first half lead of 62-54. The clippers kept the lead after the half on to victory.

Opening night shaking off the rust Lebron James contributed 18 points. James also throughout the night had many missed layups and shots including 5 turnovers. Anthony Davis had 25 points. Danny green led the Lakers in scoring with 28 points with his sharp shooting. The Lakers seemed very passive and attacked with finesse that wasn’t enough being out hustled by the Clippers.

The Clippers played strong the whole night hustling offensively and defensively. Khawi Leonard led the clippers with 30 points. Adding to Leonard’s performance, the clippers bench players contributed highly as Lou Williams had 21 points and Montrezl Harrell with 17 points. 4 players scored in double digits off the clippers bench. The Clippers starters and bench performance resulted in a team Win.

The Clippers gained a solid win even without their complete starting cast that missed the talents of Paul George. The Lakers were missing starting guard Rajon Rondo and other cast. Tonight the Clippers were the better team on the floor defeating the Lakers 112-102. As the NBA season kicks off its going to be exciting all year. As the teams progress throughout the season we’ll who rises and falls!
